8 ways to look chic when pregnant during fashion week

Natasha Goldenberg Trench Main.jpg

Looking for stylish and chic wardrobe options when pregnant, that don’t compromise your own personal style? Read the 8 ways to look chic when pregnant, the coolest maternity street style tips to steal this London Fashion Week.

Finding out I was pregnant didn’t change my style one little bit! I wish I could have maximised my pregnancy style but my bump didn’t make an appearance until quite late into my pregnancy, so I got away wearing my usual clothes until early September.
This is me #DressingTheBump more than halfway through my pregnancy, stripes, pencil skirts, shirts and heels.

Working in the fashion industry, I would say I was quite a regular at Fashion Week. I had attended every London Fashion Week (even walked in a show when I was 19 years old) for the past 4 years and went to my first Paris Fashion Week in September 2014.
Since becoming a mother I have missed 2 seasons...a whole 2 seasons, Spring Summer ‘16, as last September we were on our babymoon in the Maldives and Qatar, and this past February I was working on WHIITELIST whilst on maternity leave.

With London Fashion Week happening right this minute, and the editors and bloggers waiting to see what trends and what we should be wearing next year; I look to the pregnant few having to style their way through the shows, creating show-stopping maternity looks to steal, with the chic ways to style their bump...the ultimate accessory this London Fashion Week.

Miroslava Duma A-Line.jpg
Featured as one of the 12 dresses you should invest in not least because it starts off narrow at the top and flares out at the bottom, making it the perfect ‘non-maternity maternity’ dress, but it really is one of those dresses that flatters your shape no matter whether you’re pregnant or not. Here is the chic founder of The Tot Miroslava Duma in this bold, striped number for New York Fashion Week in September 2014.

Miroslava Duma Animal Print.jpg
One always needs a little animal print in their lives I said when taking a walk on the wild side with my limited edition Carmex lip balm! Miroslava Duma has chosen this snake print coat to make a bold statement. With the black dress skimming her bump, in a beautiful yet simple way, this outfit oozes chic.

Miroslava Duma Camel Coat.jpg
I haven’t as of yet found the perfect camel coat. If anyone sees one, please let me know! It’s the colouring that has been difficult to nail, it has to have those golden brown undertones. Miroslava Duma is the epitome of upper east side chic here with this coat, skimming again her simple black outfit.

Miroslava Duma Converse.jpg
At the Jason Wu S/S15 Miroslava Duma wore a striped black and silver dress which highlighted her bump perfectly, and finished it off with a pair of Converse. This isn’t the first time she has done this, just look at the image of the bold A-line dress above. Everything about this outfit is cool. Perfect for when heels just aren’t appropriate anymore.

Yasmin Sewell White Shirt.jpg
One of my favourite images of all time. Pregnant ex- Lucky Editor-in-Chief Eva Chen and pregnant fashion buyer Yasmin Sewell at London Fashion Week. This isn’t exactly an oversized shirt or a men’s shirt, but this asymmetric version that Yasmin Sewell has worn to highlight her bump looks oh so chic!

Natasha Goldenberg Painted Trench.jpg
When I saw this painted Burberry trench coat on Natasha Goldenberg at New York Fashion Week, my first thoughts were ooooh, what a way to style the bump! Like the main picture for this post, Natasha has worn a trench coat, and the outfit is all about the trench...nothing else matters. What I love apart from the main classic investment in the khaki Gabardine is the edgy, cool yet still chic painted trench.

Natasha Goldenberg Wrap Dress.jpg
I have been on the hunt for the perfect wrap dress for a while now. I missed out on the Gemma wrap dress from the 10 pieces to buy in the Banana Republic sale back in April, and found a pretty good option again from Banana Republic which I included in the 12 dresses you should invest in, but being that it was a faux wrap dress, not the best breastfeeding dress. There’s an idea for a blog post! The wrap dress brought to fame by Diane Von Furstenberg is perfect for all women, pregnant, non-pregnant like the A-line dress. Natasha Goldenberg has gone with a beautiful print which looks glamorously chic and hugs her bump perfectly.

Yasmin Sewell Black Dress.jpg
A black dress can look extremely safe when pregnant. Nevertheless, Yasmin Sewell looks absolutely stunning in this black dress, simple and elegant.  The black dress is one of the 12 dresses one should definitely invest in!
