11 best luxury babymoon breaks

BAA ATOLL MALDIVES Amilla Fushi.jpg
Looking for dreamy vacation ideas before baby arrives? Want to know the best place to take a luxury babymoon for you and your partner before bringing home baby? Read the 11 best luxury babymoon breaks.

As soon as I found out I was pregnant, my thoughts quickly turned to our annual anniversary vacation in November. We had planned a trip to the Maldives which now needed moving as flying at 37 weeks to a far-flung destination wasn’t exactly the best idea.
These days everyone is taking time to relax with their partner before baby is born, a time to unwind and enjoy one another as a couple before becoming a much larger family.

I needed two babymoons. Not everyone needs a babymoon every trimester, after all, the whole idea of having a babymoon is that it’s the last holiday as a couple.
I just milked it for all it was worth!
My first-trimester babymoon was in May. We travelled to the Almyra in Paphos, Cyprus, for a week, where I slept for hours on end and craved Pringles.
Our second-trimester babymoon was in September, The Residence, Maldives, where we relaxed in our pool villa, moments from the clear blue Indian Ocean, and ate like there was no tomorrow.
Our (I say our, but it was definitely my) third-trimester babymoon was still in September, but this time, we spent a few days at the Melia Doha in Qatar winding down on a city break coming to terms with the fact that Chance was a few weeks away.

Having travelled throughout the trimesters, I have to agree that the best time, and the safest time to travel when pregnant is the second trimester. Depending on the airline you don’t need a letter to fly in the second trimester (although you should certainly carry one and your hospital notes) and especially for me, I was better able to cope with the symptoms of pregnancy during this time. I feel I am going into a territory which requires its very own blog post but see below the best babymoon breaks to take during the second trimester.
