BabyMoon Part 2: Qatar

With a few days left of the second trimester, MrL and I wanted to break up the trip back home as much as possible...any excuse for a longer holiday.

As we were flying with Qatar Airways, it made sense for us to stopover in Doha.
MrL and I stayed 3 days at the Melia Doha in a Level Junior Suite.

The room was located on the 34th floor of the hotel, and had views of both Doha (very much lots of construction) but further out to the West Bay, which was nice to see.
The room was extremely large, well furnished and modern; complimentary WIFI, living and working area, spacious bathroom with both a shower and a bath and as mentioned the views over Doha (Doha is still very much under construction) was lovely to be at such a height and see a vast majority of the city.

This is certainly a 5* hotel, with its modern facilities and decor, located about 25 minutes from Hamad International airport, the location is perfect as you are only an 8 minute walk from Doha City Center Mall and the restaurants and shops that are there, and the Corniche.
In fact MrL and I were lucky enough to sample the ‘gourmet burgers’ being served at McDonalds that had not yet launched in the UK; an absolutely amazing service which involves picking out all the filling you could want inside of your burger…I made mine extra hot and spicy with an overload of jalapenos!

On one of our days, MrL and I decided upon taking the Doha City Bus Tour (£60 for 2 adults) and tour the city to get an idea of the vision and culture of Doha.

MrL made use of the the fitness centre (which was again modern) and I the pool, which was located on the 3rd floor and mostly empty; a dip in the pool very much welcome to cool off from the 42 degree heat. Again once the city has undergone all construction the views of the skyline from the pool will be wonderful.

The staff seemed quite helpful and those at the breakfast (Nidaaya) were quick to ask if you needed anything more.
Although we stayed on the Level floor, we didn't use the Level lounge which served complimentary breakfasts and snacks throughout the day, we did take a sneak peak on the first day and it did look lovely and quiet.

Overall it was a good stay and much welcome way to break up our trip from the Maldives to London.
